Mojave Adult, Child and Family Services is a clinical practice of the University of Nevada School of Medicine. We offer varied and comprehensive services for adults and youth with behavioral health needs.
Our clinics place a strong emphasis on treating the whole individual with attention to medical and psychosocial issues that impact mental health.
Our nationally-recognized programs allow a unique and comprehensive approach to treatment. Individualization and coordination of services are the cornerstone of our programs.
We are committed to the education of mental health professionals.
As such, our programs provide on-site training for undergraduate and graduate students, as well as, resident physicians.
Notice to Our Patients
Certain patient information from patient visits between April 2010 and Nov. 14, 2011 may have been accessible on the Internet due to an information breach at Nevada Medical Transcription. Nevada Medical Transcription is a private company that was under contract with Mojave Adult, Child, and Family Services to provide medical transcription services in a manner compliant with the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA).
The patient information could have included patients' names and notes from patient visits, and in some cases, dates of birth. However, we have no reason to believe that this information was viewed or has been misused.
Upon learning of this situation on Nov. 14, 2011, management at Mojave Adult, Child and Family Services immediately took steps to restore privacy of this information, and as of Nov. 21, the information was no longer viewable on the Internet.
Protection of personal health information is of utmost concern to all of us at Mojave Adult, Child and Family Services, the mental health component of the clinical practice of the University of Nevada School of Medicine. We have ended our contract with Nevada Medical Transcription and are taking steps to eliminate future risk and to further secure our operations.
